Wedding couple at Wild Wings

« day before | today | day after »

On Sunday evening we ate at Wild Wings. As we waited for our meal a wedding couple were dropped off by a limo. The couple then joined their friends for a celebration at Wild Wings.

One of the best parts about Wild Wings is that they are open and serve drinks on Sunday.

The restaurant is on Washington less than one block off Main Street. The resteraunt's web site address is: http://www.wildwingcafe.com/

Greenville Symphony

« day before | today | day after »

The Greenville Symphony had a fund raiser for the Red Cross this weekend. As a result we were able to support local Hurricane Relief efforts while enjoying a concert. The concert was held at the Peace Center for Performing Arts which is on Main Street and Broad. It was nice to just walk across the street from our condo. The Peace Center is one of the main reasons we moved downtown and we have not been disappointed. Our only problem is finding time to enjoy half of what is available.

Following are couple of link of interest:

His web site is: www.alkeiser.com The technique he uses involves printing the photo on canvas. The result looks like an outstanding painting.

The photo is one of the areas where artist had

The photo is of tents where children were given the opportunity to express their artistic skills.
The photo is of children rolling down a hill in the park.

Bistro Europa

« day before | today | day after »

We had a great meal, last Friday, at Bistro Europa. We sat at a table on the sidewalk and listened to Jazz being played across the street in the Hyatt Plaza. Each Friday evening Main Street Jazz is present.

You can see from the photo that there was a lot of activity on the street. Music, lots of people, wine, and a good meal! Life downtown in Greenville is great.

Liberty Bridge at night

« day before | today | day after »

We attended the Unity Festival at Falls Park on the Reedy this weekend. The music and dancing was great. There is always something happening downtown in Greenville. While at the festival I tried my hand at a night time photo of the Liberty Bridge. The Reedy river is in the foreground and you can just make out a couple enjoying the evening.

Lance Armstrong

« day before | today | day after »

On Friday, the weekly Jazz on Main Street event was combined with a parade in honor of George Hincapie. When the speeches started the crowd was surprised with an appearance and comments from Lance Armstrong.

About 2,500 of us in attendance had a great time. There was an article in the Greenville News about the event called "Hometown gives Hincapie a hero's welcome, parade" .

Main Street Jazz

Main Street Jazz was outstanding. We took two lounge chairs, drank wine, and enjoyed the music. Main Street was blocked off on, beer trucks were setup, and people were everywhere. Main Street Jazz occurs weekly. If you are interested checkout the following link. Main Street Jazz
